Relocating to Montana? Read this NOW!

This California born-and-bred girl was floored when my husband suggested we move to Montana. My immediate thought of Big Sky Country was frozen tundra which necessitated big, fluffy parkas... and also visions of me not making it through my first winter because I would inherently freeze to death! :) Fast forward several "recon" trips and months of research later, and I couldn't be more satisfied with our decision to move to Ravalli County.

What I discovered through all of my research was that the Bitterroot Valley of Montana is very unique in nature. It is protected by the Sapphire and Bitterroot mountains, which contributes to the generally mild climate. We don't suffer from feet upon feet (… upon feet) of snow... in fact, the average snow fall is 2-3 feet per year.

On another note, it can be scary to pick up your entire life and move to another place without any sort of support system. We had no family or friends in the area... it's almost like hitting the reset button. At the same time, it's quite liberating. We deliberately made the choice to jump out of our comfort zone, meet new people and friends, entertain a different lifestyle, and in my case begin a completely different career. What a deliberate about-face in our lives, and we wouldn't change it for the world!

We were fortunate to locate 10.52 acres of bare land we proceeded to build a home upon in the fall of 2017. We were able to move into the home by spring of 2018, if you can believe it! See my first blog post with information on the building process.

If you're looking to make a change in your life and relocate to the Bitterroot Valley, I'm the perfect resource. I took the leap myself. If you're looking to build your dream home.... well, I think you know your answer. Get in touch with me and I can help!
